Squanto was useful to the pilgrims in many ways. Often, they were not too pleased with him, but he was the best translator for the pilgrims and Wampanoag tribe. He helped the pilgrims by bringing the to a brook where hundreds of herring were spawning and were caught by hand easily because of this. Squanto was also the only educated and baptized Christian among the Wampanoag tribe. Squanto had a very big impact on the pilgrims and thier journey to Plymouth.
